While competing in the Redfish Cup this past weekend I caught some qaulity trout in Pine Island Sound on a Strike King watermelon/red flake Z-Too (jerk bait). I've never thought of that area as a great trout fishery but we caught several trout each day in the 21"-25" range in shallow water around the pot holes! It seems like the biggest trout are always in shallow water (1'-2' depth).
