    Spooling Braided Line

Have had some trouble in spooling braided line. Wanted to know if it is possible to spool monofilament (12lbs test) and then add a top shot of 150 yards of 10 lbs braid? Didn't know if this would work or not. Thanks for any info.

    Re: Spooling Braided Line

I would definitely spool some mono (10#-15# test) on the reel first and then top shot with the braid...  this is also more cost effective.  Some do put tape on the spool of their reels and then completely fill the spool with braid but that is not the norm!

In short you are doing it right.
