    About over this Wind...

Ever since I got this kayak 2 weeks ago the wind has blown 15 to 20 or better...is it me or is this normal for newbies in the kayak community?

    Re: About over this Wind...

My 1st post on the site. I have been coming here some time for the videos. Great information!

I'm a big Kayak fishing fan, and I have to agree the winds have been very strong. I try to stick to the back country (Mangrooves) to avoid the wind, and look for pockets near island to rest. I have a small anchor which I can drop to also rest.

Also I keep a slow pace when the wind is strong, and pick up the pace when the wind slows down. I kayak up to 18 miles sometimes to get to a good fishing spot, and have had to do it in 15 to 25 winds. On the 18 miles day's I drop the Kayak at 2:30 AM.

I have been looking into a new type of Kayak that has a jetski engine on it, and hit speeds of 25 miles per hour. I will let you know how that goes.
